RIPON, Wisconsin – Luke Meinholz of the Ripon men's basketball program tied a career-high with 27 points and broke the program's career steals mark in a 74-58 home win over Lake Forest on Tuesday night inside Weiske Gymnasium.
Needing six steals to surpass David McMullen's mark of 211 that had stood since 2007, Meinholz swiped four in the first half and a pair in the second as Ripon (6-9, 3-3 MWC) forced Lake Forest (6-9, 3-3 MWC) into 20 turnovers and won its fourth consecutive meeting with the Foresters.

- Senior guard/forward Luke Meinholz led all scorers by tying a career-high with 27 points on 10-of-16 shooting. He made a trio of three-pointers, adding six steals, three rebounds and three assists.
- Senior guard Cade Tackmier contributed 13 points, four rebounds and three assists.
- Junior forward Kolby Williams chipped in 10 points, five rebounds and two assists off the bench.

PLAY-BY-PLAY
Lake Forest held an early 7-6 lead, but Ripon countered with an 8-0 run to pull in front by seven with 12 minutes left in the half. Six consecutive points pushed the Red Hawk lead to 20-9, but the Foresters closed to within three with 7:55 remaining. Ripon's lead ballooned to double digits again, though a 12-point edge turned into seven in the last three minutes. Leading 32-25, the Red Hawks ended the half with nine consecutive points – including a half-ending triple by
Seth Bunders – to command a 41-25 advantage at the break.
Lake Forest opened the second half scoring, but Ripon turned a 14-point lead into a 20-point margin with six consecutive points, grabbing a 51-31 lead. After the Foresters cut their deficit to 16, Meinholz went on a 5-0 run of his own to give Ripon a 59-38 cushion. A 5-0 spurt for Lake Forest brought the visitors within 13 with under 10 minutes to play, but that would be the closest they would come the rest of the night. Meinholz connected on a triple to put Ripon in front by 18 with four minutes to play, and Lake Forest only mustered two made field goals in the final three and a half minutes as Ripon salted the victory away at the free throw line.
