RIPON, Wis. -- The Ripon College women's soccer program (3-6-4, 1-1-2 MWC) ended in a 0-0 tie this Saturday, Oct 11, to Knox College (3-8-2, 0-4-1 MWC).
Despite the ending score, the game would jump out to a quick start, with
Martina Palazzolo (Sterling Heights, Mich., Utica Ford HS) and
Cielo Gutierrez (Oshkosh, Wis., Valley Christian School) each up a shot within the first 13 minutes of action. The Prairie Fire would respond with a shot of their own in the 16th minute, but goalkeeper
Britt Hable (Oshkosh, Wis., Oshkosh West HS) would scoop up the attempt, which would prove to be Knox's only of the contest.
The second half would see Ripon earn four shot attempts, with two sailing off target and two being stopped by the Prairie Fire goalkeeper. Carrying a 7-1 shot advantage as the final horn blew, Ripon would end the game without finding the back of the net, finishing in a 0-0 tie. The shot disparity would end up matching the foul disparity, with Knox committing just one offense in the game to Ripon's seven.
The Red Hawks return to action on the road against Lake Forest this coming Tuesday, Oct 14. The Foresters enter the contest with a perfect 14-0 record, coming off a 5-0 defeat of Beloit.
