RIPON, Wisconsin – The Ripon track and field programs returned to the Willmore Center on Saturday, competing in the annual Red Hawk Invite to open the final three weeks of the regular season.
On the women's side,
Tatum Trudell,
Madylyn Woyak,
Devin Ibarra and
Heleyna Weiss kicked off the meet with a 1:50.57 victory in the 4x200 relay.
Joley Berger put together an impressive mile run, finishing in third with a 5:15.60 mark.
In the final women's running event of the day, the 4x400 relay, the Red Hawks took second thanks again to the quartet of Woyak, Trudell, Ibarra and Weiss (4:20.44). Additionally, the foursome of
Kiki Sherman,
Nicole Arnhold,
Gabby Allard and
Ximena Juarez Martinez placed fourth in 4:30.63.
On the men's side,
Jacob Davies ran the 400-meter run in a quick 50.31 – narrowly missing out on a school record – to earn a first-place finish. After qualifying for a competitive finals race in the 60-meter hurdles,
Zak Ladage placed third with a time of 8.91.
Logan Vander Galien was Ripon's only 60-meter dash finals qualifier; the senior came in fifth with a finals time of 7.00.
Ripon had a pair of top-five finishers in the 800-meter run:
Rainier Villanueva took third in 1:56.06, while
Adisun Romprey was the fifth finisher in 1:58.43.
To end the meet, the 4x400 relay foursome of Davies, Villanueva,
Christian Kuwaye and
Aiden Brobst placed second with a time of 3:30.51.
In field events,
Kyan Lins took second in the men's high jump with a mark of 1.85m. Arnhold earned a fifth-place finish in the women's triple jump, recording a top mark of 10.19m.
Additionally, six Red Hawks placed sixth in their respective events:
Ben Fisher (long jump), Allard (mile),
Matt Seeber (mile),
Finley Manning (400-meter run), Sherman (800-meter run) and the men's 4x400 relay team of Manning,
Amir Williams,
Jamar Thomas and Romprey.
The men came in fourth as a team, while the women took sixth.
Meanwhile in La Crosse,
Jacoby Cefalu and
Jenny Cortes competed at the Mark Guthrie Legacy Invitational hosted by UW-La Crosse. Cefalu qualified for the 60-meter dash finals, almost breaking his own school record with a finals time of 6.88. He also took second in the 200-meter dash with a time of 21.94. Cortes ran the 800-meter run, finishing in fourth with a 2:15.69 showing. Her time is now the 17th-fastest in all of Division III this season.

Ripon hosts the Dick Hendricks Invite next Saturday (February 15) at 11 a.m. The meet will also serve as Senior Day for the Red Hawks.
