MONMOUTH, Illinois – The Ripon track and field programs wrapped up day two of the MWC Championships on Saturday on the campus of Monmouth College inside the Huff Athletic Center.
As a team, the men took second – narrowly missing a fourth consecutive team title – while the women placed fourth.
Ben Fisher was named the MWC Men's Outstanding Field Performer after a first-place finish in the high jump on Friday, a runner-up long jump finish and a top-eight finish in the triple jump Saturday.
Joley Berger was named the MWC Women's Indoor Newcomer of the Year after winning the 5K on Friday and taking second in the 3K on Saturday.
On the men's side,
Jacoby Cefalu won the MWC title in the 60-meter dash by a tenth of a second – he edged out Beloit's Josh Yearby with a time of 6.91. He also was the 200 runner-up with a time of 21.97.
On the women's side, the distance medley relay, Ripon's crew of
Minnie Hoffman,
Kiki Sherman,
Devin Ibarra and
Gabby Allard took home first with a time of 12:54.26.
Chloe Studinski earned a runner-up finish in the high jump with a mark of 1.56m, as did
Jenny Cortes in the 800 (2:16.82).
Berger earned another runner-up finish for the Red Hawks, taking second in the 3K with a PR of 10:28.43.

Matt Seeber (3K), the women's 4x400 relay and the men's 4x400 relay.
