HILTON HEAD ISLAND, South Carolina – In a quick match that lasted just over two hours, the Ripon women's tennis program won its second consecutive match by sweeping Agnes Scott 7-0 on Wednesday afternoon.
Ripon (4-15) started fast, controlling all three doubles courts throughout and taking the early 1-0 lead.
Isabella DeMeuse and
Ella Clark teamed up for a 6-2 win on the third line before
Isabella Engstrom and
Jessi Griepentrog clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 win on court two. To put the exclamation point on doubles,
Tia Endrizzi and
Catherine Skoglund were 7-5 winners on the top line.
Ripon continued to roll Agnes Scott (0-3) in singles, taking all six first sets. Endrizzi (6-0, 6-1), Skoglund (6-0, 6-1) and
Aubrey Malotky (6-2, 6-1) were efficient winners on courts one, two and five respectively to clinch the match for Ripon.
Allison Pavlovec was the next victor, taking court four by a score of 6-0, 6-1. Griepentrog (6-2, 6-2) picked up Ripon's sixth point on court three before
Emily Bittinger finished off the sweep with a 6-2, 1-6, [10-2] victory on court six.
