GENEVA, Ohio – In the best NCAA Championships performance of his career,
Dameco Walker took second place in the long jump as the Ripon track and field programs opened up the 2025 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships on Thursday at the SPIRE Institute.
Walker earned his fourth career All-American honor (indoor and outdoor) in the long jump, earning runner-up laurels with a high-water mark of 7.40m. With one event left in his illustrious collegiate career (triple jump on Saturday morning), the graduate student has accumulated six total All-American accolades.
The runner-up finish is the highest for a Ripon male at nationals since Mike Immel won the national championship in discus in 1996.
Additionally,
Bridget Finn began her two-day heptathlon with the 100-meter hurdles, high jump, shot put and 200-meter dash. Halfway through the competition, she stands in 11th place with a total score of 2886. Highlighting her performance was a second-place finish in the high jump and a personal best 26.37 time in the 200.

Day two of the NCAA Championships begins on Friday (May 23) with the heptathlon at 10 a.m. CT.
Jacoby Cefalu will run in the 100-meter dash prelims at 2:30 p.m. CT.
