RIPON, Wis. -- The Ripon College women's soccer program earned a scoreless tie this Friday, Sept 12, against the visiting Great Lakes Christian College Crusaders (1-3-1). Goalkeeper
Britt Hable (Oshkosh, Wis., Oshkosh West HS) recorded five saves en route to her second shut out this season.
Both teams would test the other early in the contest. The Red Hawks would earn the first shot attempts of the game, missing high on an attempt in the 5th minute, and again in the 8th minute. The Crusaders would fire back immediately, putting a shot on target in the 9th minute, with Hable picking up her first save of the game. Ripon would record five shot attempts across the opening half, while the Crusaders would earn just two.
The second half would open similar to the first, with both teams trading early shots. Forward
Lizzy Schmitz (Sheboygan, Wis., Sheboygan Lutheran HS) would put a shot on target for the Red Hawks in the 54th minute, which would prove to be the last on target attempt for the hosts. As the game came down to the final minutes, Hable would come up big for the home team, recording two saves after two corner kicks gave the Crusaders looks with under seven minutes left to play. The effort would seal the end result, with the teams concluding the game in a scoreless tie.
