OSHKOSH, Wis. -- Sophomore
Joley Berger (Dunbar, Wis., Pembine HS) has set a new school record for Ripon College women's cross country at the 2025 UWO Titan Fall Classic, posting a 22:04.8 6k time, the fastest ever in the event for the Red Hawks. As a team, the women would capture second place for the event, while the men would finish sixth.
Berger's record-setting performance would not be the end of the Red Hawks' success on the day. Finishing just two spots behind Berger, senior
Jenny Cortes (Round Lake, Ill., Round Lake HS) would post a 4 second personal best, crossing the line with a 22:21.0 time, good for the fifth best 6k in Ripon College history. Junior
Gabby Allard (Appleton, Wis., Kimberly HS) would cross the line next for the Red Hawks, finishing in 17th place with a 23:38.1 time. Juniors
Mya Garcia (Chino Hills, Calif., Brea Olinda HS) and
Minnie Hoffman (Oostburg, Wis., Oostburg HS) would earn their own places on the Ripon All-Time list, finishing just a second apart with times of 23:52.1 and 23:53.2, respectively, placing them both within the top 20 performances in program history.
The collection of performances would net the Red Hawks their best finish of the year, placing second as a team behind UW-Stevens Point.
On the men's side, senior
Jeremy Saloun (Portage, Wis., Portage HS) would put up the top time for the team, finishing inside the top 20 with a 26:11.4 in the 8k. Freshman
Finn Lettau (Neenah, Wis., Neenah HS) would cross the line next in 32nd place, posting a 26:49.7, while sophomore
Jaxon Hornby (Marshall, Wis., Marshall HS) would round out the Red Hawks top three with a 27:17.6.
Both programs return to action Friday, Oct 3, for the Blugold invite hosted by UW-Eau Claire. The event hosts enter the race as a top thirty women's program nationally, according to the most recent USTFCCCA National Coaches' Poll.
