NEW ORLEANS, La. -- The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) has voted Ripon women's cross country #8 in the North Region rankings.
Voted on by coaches around the country, Ripon's eighth place ranking comes after a strong showing at the UW-Oshkosh Titan Fall Classic, in which the Red Hawks earned a second place finish, with #7 North Region team UW-Stevens Point winning the event. Four of Ripon's women would run PRs at the event, with all four finishing with top twenty times in the history of the program. SophomoreÂ
Joley Berger (Dunbar, Wis., Pembine HS) would set the new program record at the event, running the fastest time among all Midwest Conference (MWC) runners this season, while seniorÂ
Jenny Cortes (Round Lake, Ill., Round Lake HS) would finish with the second fastest MWC time of the season.Â
Mya Garcia (Chino Hills, Calif., Brea Olinda HS) andÂ
Minnie Hoffman (Oostburg, Wis., Oostburg HS)Â would round out Ripon's top four finishers, running the 19th and 20th fastest 6k times in the history of the program.
The North holds some of the strongest programs in the country, with four of the top thirty nationally ranked teams coming from the region. Ripon now stands as the highest ranked non-WIAC or MIAC team in the region.
