APPLETON, Wis. -- The Ripon College women's tennis team traveled to Lawrence University on Saturday for a neutral-site matchup, facing UW-Stout and UW-Eau Claire. Despite competitive efforts, the Red Hawks were swept in both matches, falling 7-0 to each opponent.
Match 1
Ripon opened the day against UW-Stout and struggled to find traction. The doubles matches proved competitive, but the Red Hawks were unable to secure a point, dropping all three doubles contests. In singles play, UW-Stout maintained control across all six courts, with players closing out matches in straight sets. Senior
Allison Pavlovec (Decorah, Iowa, Decorah HS) stole set one 6-3 before ultimately losing the match in a tie breaker despite a strong effort. Senior
Hadley Berendsen (Kimberly, Wis., Kimberly HS) and sophomore
Josie Rondestvedt (Altoona, Wis., Altoona HS) put up tough battles but came up short in singles competition.
Match 2
Later in the day, Ripon faced UW-Eau Claire and again fell 7-0. The doubles pairings could not overcome the strong play from the Blugolds, and Ripon was unable to capture a point in singles. At the top singles positions, the Blugold's players secured straight-set victories, while Ripon's competitors continued to battle in every match despite the lopsided scorelines.
