Berger Takes 3k School Record At Alumni Meet

RIPON, Wis. -- Sophomore distance runner Joley Berger (Dunbar, Wis., Pembine HS) has claimed another school record, finishing with a time of 10:12.37 in the women's 3000 meters at this year's Alumni Meet. Both the Red Hawk teams would finish second at the event, finishing behind Beloit but above of the Ripon Alumni teams.

Berger's win in the 3000 meters outpaces the previous record of 10:16.96, set in 2024. The school record comes as Berger's second, with the sophomore also holding the women's cross country record in the 6k. Senior Jenny Cortes (Round Lake, Ill., Round Lake HS) and junior Ximena Juarez Martinez (Addison, Ill., Addison Trail HS) would finish second and third in the event, recording times of 10:34.96 and 10:59.79 respectively.

The women would also see strong results in the high jump, as junior Chloe Studinski (Oshkosh, Wis., Lourdes Academy) won the event with a 1.61 meter success, earning her the #27 spot on the current DIII rankings in the event. Joining her on the national rankings is teammate Sidney Hoffa (Coloma, Wis., Westfield Area HS), who won the long jump with a 5.22 meter effort, good for #73 in DIII this season.

For the men, junior Zak Ladage (Chatham, Ill., Lutheran High School) secured first place in the 60 meter hurdles, winning with a time of 8.78. The men would also secure a win in the triple jump, with Nick Trzebiatowski (Rosholt, Wis., Rosholt HS) claiming first on a 12.09 meter result.

The men's 3000 meter saw a strong showing from the Ripon Alumni team, with Jonah DeCleene (Suamico, Wis., West De Pere HS), Matt Seeber (Lakewood, Wis., Wabeno HS), and Sam Forstner (Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln HS) finishing in second, third, and fourth place. The Alumni team also gained a bump in the men's 1 mile race, with alum Jacob Jumbeck (Galesville, Wis., Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau HS) claiming first place on a time of 4:19.76, and in the long jump, with Dameco Walker (Milwaukee, Wis., Brown Deer HS) securing second place on a 6.24 meter effort.

On the women's side, alum Bridget Finn (Hales Corners, Wis., Whitnall HS) secured a victory in the women's 60 meter hurdles, crossing the line with a time of 9.97. Arynn Mathieu (Byron, Ill., Byron HS), throwing for the alumni team, would win the women's weight throw event, recording a 12.57 meter throw.
