OSHKOSH, Wis. -- Junior guard Laney Havlovitz (Wild Rose, Wis., Wild Rose HS) has once again been named the Midwest Conference Performer of the Week after a pair of standout performances that powered Ripon to two more conference victories.
Havlovitz turned in one of her most complete weeks of the season, averaging 19.5 points, 4.5 steals, 3.0 assists, and 2.5 rebounds per game while impacting the game on both ends of the floor. Her defensive intensity and ability to score in key moments helped the Red Hawks maintain their strong play in MWC action.
In Tuesday's win over Cornell College, Havlovitz filled the stat sheet with 13 points, six assists, and a career-high eight steals. Her relentless ball pressure sparked Ripon's transition offense and disrupted Lake Forest's rhythm throughout the contest.
She followed that effort with a career-tying 26-point performance in Saturday's road victory at Knox. Havlovitz shot 9-of-17 from the field, attacked downhill with confidence, and converted key free throws late to seal the win. She added five rebounds and four steals, once again setting the tone with her energy during pivotal second-half stretches.
Havlovitz also reached a significant milestone during the week. With 12 combined steals in the two games, she surpassed her previous single-season total of 64 steals, a mark that ranked tied for fourth all-time in program history last season. She now sits at 65 steals this year and continues to climb the record book.
Ripon women's basketball returns home this Saturday, Feb 21, to host Beloit College at 3pm for Senior Day.
