OSHKOSH, Wis. -- For the third consecutive week, junior guard Laney Havlovitz (Wild Rose, Wis., Wild Rose HS) has been named Midwest Conference Performer of the Week for women's basketball, marking her third straight weekly award and further cementing her impact on a historic season for the Red Hawks.
In Ripon's win over Beloit that secured the program's first-ever undefeated Midwest Conference regular season, Havlovitz delivered another all-around performance. The junior guard finished with 20 points, six rebounds, three assists and five steals, setting the tone on both ends of the floor as the Red Hawks completed a perfect league slate.
Her defensive presence has been unmatched across the conference this season. Havlovitz now stands as the outright steals leader in the Midwest Conference with 70 total steals, averaging 2.8 per game, both marks ranking first among all MWC players.
But her impact goes far beyond takeaways.
Within the Midwest Conference statistical rankings, Havlovitz currently sits:
- 6th overall in scoring -- 14.0 points per game (349 total points)
- 4th overall in assists -- 100 assists (4.0 per game)
- 3rd overall in assist-to-turnover ration
- 1st overall in steals -- 70 steals (2.8 per game)
Her ability to balance scoring, playmaking and defensive disruption has made her one of the most complete guards in the league. Whether attacking the rim, facilitating the offense or pressuring opposing ball handlers, Havlovitz has consistently elevated the Red Hawks in key moments.
Three straight weekly honors underscore not only her individual excellence, but also the consistency she has shown throughout conference play. As the postseason approaches, Havlovitz continues to be a driving force behind one of the most successful seasons in program history.Â
Ripon hosts the MWC Tournament this Friday and Saturday, Feb 27-28. The Red Hawks compete against Cornell College at 5pm on Friday, Feb 27.
