Alec Hoover

Hired on August 30, 2017, Hoover is the fifth head coach in Ripon College Cycling history.

A 2017 graduate of Lees-McRae College in Banner Elk, N.C., Hoover earned his B.S. Degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Marketing. He also earned his Associates Degree in Exercise Science from Duchess County Community College in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. in 2014.

While at Lees McRae, Hoover competed on the cycling team, serving as the squad's Road Captain during the Spring of 2017. While competing at lees- McRae College Hoover won the SECCC Championship Road Race in 2016, Placed 12th omnium at the 2016 Collegiate Road Race Nationals in Aschville, NC, and won  the ACCC championship road race in 2017. He is also a two-time USAC Academic All-Star, while graduating from Lees-McRae Cum Laude. He was named to the conference's Carolina's Presidential Honor Roll in the Spring of 2016.


Hoover Hold a category one USAC License in the disciplines of Road, Cross County Mountain Bike, and Cyclcocross racing, brining over 7 years of National Caliber Racing experience to the team in all disciplines.
 
During the 2018-2019 Mountain Bike, Road Cycling, and Cyclocross Season, Hoover lead the Red Hawks to over 21 podium finishes and 8 wins during his debut coaching season, leading to the best Season the red hawks have had in over 3 years.
 
Hoover is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Nutrition and Human Performance from Logan University and resides in Ripon.
