In eight years as Ripon's head softball coach, Jen Mueller has taken the Red Hawks to new heights. Already the program's second-winningest coach, Mueller holds a career record of 105-156-1.
Mueller led Ripon to its best season in school history in 2011, which saw the Red Hawks win a school record 27 games, en route to the program's second-ever Midwest Conference Championship and second NCAA Regional Tourament appearance. Mueller coached the Red Hawks to its first three NCAA Tournament victories in school history that season, finishing third in the eight-team Eau Claire Regional. At the conclusion of the 2011 season, Mueller and her coaching staff were selected as the Great Lakes Regional Softball Coaching Staff of the Year.
In her first season as Ripon's head coach in 2009, Mueller led the Red Hawks to their best conference record in school history (12-1) and a first place finish in the MWC. That led to Ripon hosting the MWC Tournament for the first time in school history. Ripon finished that season with a 20-14 overall record.
In her eight years as head coach, Mueller has coached 19 All-Conference players and two MWC North Pitcher of the Year selections (Stephanie Rieuwpassa in 2011 and 2012).
Prior to becoming head coach of the Red Hawks, Mueller served one year as an assistant under head coach Kelly Witte. In that season (2008), Ripon won its first MWC Championship in program history and earned an automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament for the first time.
Mueller is no stranger to the Red Hawk softball program. A 2007 graduate of Ripon College, Mueller graduated with the school record for career strikeouts (226). She also finished her career ranking second in the Ripon record book for innings pitched (447.2), victories (40), earned run average (1.78), and complete games (50). The Oconto Falls, Wis. native was named MWC North Pitcher of the Year in 2006 and 2007, while also earning All-Conference First Team honors in each of those seasons. She was named to the All-Conference Second Team in 2005.
