    Assistant Women's Basketball Coach
Midwest Conference champion and former Ripon men's basketball standout Owen Theune begins his second season as an assistant coach for the Ripon women's basketball program in 2024-25.
 
"We are thrilled to have Owen joining our program this season," head coach Lauren Busalacchi said at the time of his hiring. "His insight as an accomplished alum on our men's side and his passion for Ripon basketball will add great value to our mission-minded culture.  We are excited to be the next step for Owen and his coaching career!"
 
The Waupun native was a member of the Ripon men's basketball program from 2018-2023, playing in 105 career games – the most in school history. He was a key contributor on the 2020 MWC championship team, collecting a double-double in the 2020 MWC title game against St. Norbert with 21 points and 10 rebounds. Theune started in 74 career games and was a 49% shooter from the floor while scoring 776 points (7.4 per game) and collecting 477 total rebounds (4.5 per game).
 
Theune said: "I am honored and excited to begin my coaching career as a member of the Ripon College women's basketball program. I am thankful to be able to learn from Coach Lauren and her staff on what it takes to become a successful and respected program. Basketball is something I care deeply about, and coaching will allow me to always stay connected to the game. I can't wait to get started!"
