Alex Harty

Alex Harty is in his first season as an assistant coach for Ripon's volleyball team.

Harty began his coaching career at Waupun High School in 2014, coaching the freshmen team and assisting with the varsity team which advanced to the WIAA Division 2 state tournament. In 2015, Harty joined the Winneconne High School coaching staff, assisting with both the junior varsity and varsity teams. Harty took over the head varsity position at Winneconne for the 2018 and 2019 seasons, leading the Wolves to a 55-14 record over those two seasons, which included a conference championship in 2019.

In 2018, Harty joined the UW-Oshkosh Men’s collegiate club coaching staff, where he is entering his fourth season with the program. Harty coached the UW-O men’s division 2 team to an NCVF Division lll third-place national finish in 2018. The following year, he took over the UW-O men’s division 1 team that achieved an NCVF Division l third-place national finish.

In 2019, Harty was awarded the AVCA Thirty Under 30 High school award. The AVCA presented the inaugural Thirty Under 30 Awards in 2009. This award was created to honor thirty of the up-and-coming volleyball coaches under 30 years old in the sport at all levels of the game.

As a player, Harty was a member of the UW-Oshkosh men’s club team from 2014-2017. He helped the Titans to an NCVF Division lll second-place finish in 2015, and fifth place finishes in 2016, and 2017. Harty earned All-Conference and All-State honors in both 2014 and 2016.
