Ripon Drops Home Finale, 3-0

The Ripon men's soccer team concluded its home schedule Wednesday afternoon, losing to St. Norbert College 3-0. The Red Hawks were outshot in the game, 16-8, with St. Norbert holding an 8-4 advantage in both halves.

The Green Knights (9-7-2, 8-2-0) didn't waste much time getting on the board, as Sam Lamers scored on a one-on-one opportunity in the 10th minute. Less than three minutes later, St. Norbert doubled its lead on a Joe Fabich goal, which was assisted by Kyle Adams. The Green Knights added an insurance goal in the 70th minute of the second half when Jake Antoniewicz scored off an assist from Trevor Scales.

Cody Messerschmidt played all 90 minutes in goal for the Red Hawks, making seven saves. St. Norbert's Scott Faul and Sam Lisheron combined for the shutout, combining for three saves on the day.

Ripon will close its 2013 season on Sunday at Carroll University. That game will begin at 1:30 p.m. in Waukesha, Wis.
