Red Hawks Fall To Lawrence

In Saturday's dual meet, the Ripon College women's swim team lost to Lawrence University, 190-59.

The Red Hawks garnered one first-place finish on the day, as Hannah Metz was victorious in the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.71, which was nearly two full seconds better than the second-place time. Metz added a second place finish in the 100 butterfly, which saw her swim a time of 1:04.68. Also finishing with a pair of top two finishes was Winona Holmes-Robbins, who placed second in both the 200 butterfly and 400 IM with times of 2:28.03 and 5:11.79, respectively. Hannah Herzog also added a second place finish in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:19.40.

In relay competition, Ripon's 200 freestyle team of Holmes-Robbins, Metz, Sara Heitkamp and Rachella Bennett finished second with a time of 1:52.32, which was three seconds off the pace of the winning team.

Ripon will be in action again next weekend when they will host their first of two home meets this season. Saturday's meet against Beloit College will begin at 1 p.m. in Ripon.
