RIPON, Wis. - The Red Hawks allowed two Lawrence goals in each half Tuesday night, en route to a 4-1 loss to the Vikings. Lawrence also outshot the Red Hawks by a total of 23-5.

The Vikings (1-6-2, 1-1-1 MWC) started the scoring in the sixth minute when Erik Soderlund netted his first goal of the season on an assist from Chris Kiehl. They didn't score again until about 20 minutes later when Cameron Pieper found the back of the net for the second time this, thanks to an assist by Soderlund.

Pieper added a second goal in the 73rd minute on a shot from outside right. One minute later, Santiago Alvarez gave Lawrence a 4-0 lead on his first goal of the season. Ripon (2-8-1, 0-4-0 MWC) avoided the shutout in the 76th minute when Derek Saxon scored for the third time this season on an assist from Josh Luna, but that would be the Red Hawks' only goal of the contest.

Cody Messerschmidt and James Saager combined for seven saves in goal for the Red Hawks, while Lawrence's Joe Krivit played the entire 90 minutes, making three saves.

Ripon will be in action again on Saturday when they'll host Knox College. That game will begin at 11 a.m. on Prairie Field in Ripon.
