RIPON, Wis. - The Ripon College volleyball team won for the fifth time in their last six games Friday night, defeating Knox College in four sets (25-16, 25-13, 23-25, 25-15). The Red Hawks never trailed during the first two sets, while recording at least 15 kills in each frame. The win keeps Ripon in second place in the Midwest Conference standings, just one-half game behind defending MWC Champion Cornell College.
Allison Barnes led Ripon (8-12, 5-1 MWC) with 14 kills and a hitting percentage of .591. She was also second on the team with 12 digs and recorded one block assist.
Emily Gary added 12 kills, to go along with a hitting percentage of .571, while
Kat Kulas posted 10 kills and a hitting percentage of .562.
Abbi Williamson led the Red Hawks with 47 assists and a team-high three block assists, while
Stacie Klika finished with a team-best 12 digs. Ripon finished the match with a team hitting percentage of .345, which is by far their highest of the season.
Knox (9-15, 4-4 MWC) was led by Kyleigh Guthals' 13 kills. Casey Stachelski added 20 assists for the Prairie Fire, while Jakeiyah Triplett led the team with 15 digs.
The Red Hawks will try to extend their winning streak to four games on Saturday when they'll host Monmouth College. That match will begin at 1 p.m. at Storzer Center in Ripon.
