Ripon Falls To UW-Oshkosh

OSHKOSH, Wis. - Ripon's women's swim team lost to UW-Oshkosh in Saturday's dual meet, 125-54, in what was their final meet before the annual Midwest Conference Championships.

The Red Hawks saw two individuals finish with first place finishes on Saturday, with Emma Goral and Hannah Metz doing the honors in the 100 IM (1:04.47) and 50 butterfly (29.56), respectively. Winona Holmes-Robbins was just one second off Goral's time in the 100 IM with a time of 1:05.66, placing second in the event. Gabby Horstmeier and Lateesha Hiser also recorded second place finishes in the 50 freestyle (28.38) and 50 backstroke (31.81), respectively. Goral and Horstmeier added third-place finishes in the 50 breaststroke (35.31) and 100 freestyle (1:01.68), respectively.

In relay competition, Ripon's 200 medley team of Goral, Holmes-Robbins, Metz and Horstmeier finished first with a time of 2:03.00, which was six seconds better than the second-place time.

Ripon will now prepare to compete in next weekend's Midwest Conference Championship, which will take place from February 13-15 in Grinnell, Iowa.
