ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Scheduled to play two games on the final day of the Augustana (Ill.) Invitational Sunday morning, the Ripon softball team was only able to get one of the games in. With their 9 a.m. contest against Wartburg canceled due to cold temps, the Red Hawks turned their attention to Coe, losing to the Kohawks by a score of 3-0.

The game featured 10 hits between the two teams, with two coming from the Red Hawks (3-12). The first run of the contest came in the top of the second when Coe (13-6) belted a solo home run. The Kohawks added to that lead in the sixth, scoring runs on a pair of RBI doubles.

Ripon's first hit didn't come until the sixth inning, when Meg Krautsch singled. Ashley Parkkonen had the team's other hit. Ashley Gnacinski (3-4) suffered the loss, despite allowing just two earned runs on eight hits and striking out six.

The Red Hawks will try to get back on the winning track Thursday when they'll open their conference schedule at Carroll University. That doubleheader will begin at 3 p.m. in Waukesha, Wis.,
