School Record Falls As Red Hawks Lose To Carroll

Results

WAUKESHA, Wis. -
The Ripon women's swim team lost a dual meet at Carroll University Saturday afternoon by a score of 152-53. Despite the loss, sophomore Emma Goral broke one of the longest-standing school records, as she won the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:06.86, which shatters a 23-year-old record by six seconds. That marks the fourth individual school record that Goral has broken during her two years at Ripon College.

In addition to her record-breaking performance in the 1000 freestyle, Goral also won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1:00.12. Goral's teammate, Winona Holmes-Robbins finished just off her pace in the 100 butterfly with a second-place time of 1:03.74, while also placing second in the 100 IM (1:06.14). Hanna Metz added a third-place finish in the 100 freestyle (59.55).

The Red Hawks will now have a week off from competition, before jumping back in the pool on January 30 when they'll take part in the Wisconsin Private College Championships, which will be hosted by Carthage College in Kenosha, Wis.
