RIPON, Wis. - The Red Hawks had visions of an upset Tuesday night, leading by double digits during the first half against 16th-ranked St. Norbert. Those visions wouldn't come to fruition however, as St. Norbert shot 56 percent (14-25) in the second half, which included 50 percent (7-14) from 3-point range, helping them to an 83-63 victory, which marks their 56th consecutive conference win.
The Green Knights (15-2, 12-0 MWC) led for much of the first seven minutes, before Ripon (10-7, 8-4 MWC) scored 11 consecutive points. That was the beginning of a 25-9 run that helped give the Red Hawks a 10 point lead with just over two minutes left in the first half. That lead evaporated over the next two minutes as Seth Taylor and D.J. DeValk combined to score the final 10 points of the half for SNC, tying the score at 31 at the half.

Ty Sabin jumper in the first minute of the second period briefly gave Ripon the lead, but DeValk answered with a 3-pointer to give St. Norbert the lead for good. Leading by eight with eight and a half minutes remaining, the Green Knights took control of the game with back-to-back 3-pointers by Dakota Oskey and DeValk, which helped SNC end the game on a 23-11 run.
Ripon shot 40 percent (21-52) from the field, including 37 percent (7-19) from 3-point range. Sabin finished with a game-high 27 points, with 16 of those coming in the first half.
Ty Ketz added 11 points and four assists.
St. Norbert scored 19 second-chance points, while the Red Hawks only scored three. All five starters for the Green Knights scored in double figures, led by DeValk's 21 points, to go along with five rebounds and seven assists. Tim Marshall added 14 points and six boards on 7-of-8 shooting, while Mitchell Reinthaler and Terrence Garner each scored 11.
Despite the loss, Ripon remains in third place in the MWC standings. They will try to get back to their winning ways on Saturday when they'll travel to Grinnell College. That game will begin at 1 p.m. in Grinnell, Iowa and can be seen live atÂ
