RIPON, Wis. - The Ripon volleyball team won their second match in as many days Saturday afternoon, defeating Monmouth College in three sets, 25-10, 25-22, 25-19. That win keeps Ripon tied for second place in the Midwest Conference standings, and assures them of a winning season for the second time in the last three years.
Against Monmouth, Ripon (14-6, 3-1 MWC) finished with a hitting percentage of .240, while limiting the Fighting Scots (6-13, 1-3 MWC) to a hitting percentage of .058. The Red Hawks finished with 36 kills in the match, while Monmouth had 29.
Ripon was led by
Katie Berrell, who finished with a match-high 11 kills and a hitting percentage of .212.
Kat Kulas added seven kills, to go along with team-highs of two service aces and five blocks (two solo).
Abbi Williamson and
Olivia Heck combined for 32 assists, while
Stacie Klika led all players with 13 digs.
Monmouth was led by Becca Dabrowski's eight kills. Ali Gustafson added five kills and eight digs.
The Red Hawks will try to build on their current three-game winning streak Friday when they'll host Beloit College at 7 p.m. in Wyman Gymnasium.
