Emma Goral Breaks School Record As Ripon Falls To UW-Oshkosh In Dual Meet

 Swimming in their final meet before the 2016 MWC Championships, the Ripon College women's team narrowly lost to UW-Oshkosh in a dual meet, 103-99.

One of the highlights of Ripon's day came from Emma Goral, who broke a 10-year-old school record in the 200 freestyle with a first-place time of 1:57.57. Goral also won the 100 butterfly with a time of 59.48 and was part of Ripon's winning 200 freestyle relay, along with Winona Holmes-Robbins, Abby Hilker and Hannah Metz, swimming a time of 1:46.20. Hilker also finished first in two individual events, winning the 1000 freestyle (11:53.08) and 500 freestyle (5:43.04). Holmes-Robbins added a first-place finish in the 200 IM (2:18.84) and a second-place finish in the 100 backstroke (1:03.12). Also with a pair of top-two finishes was Hannah Metz, who finished second in both the 50 freestyle (27.03) and 100 freestyle (58.78).

Ripon's season will come to an end at the MWC Championships, which will take place from February 19-21 in Grinnell, Iowa.
