STEVENS POINT, Wis. - The Ripon College volleyball team ended the second and final day of the Pointer Invitational by winning one of two matches. The Red Hawks defeated Bethany Lutheran in three sets (25-23, 25-14, 25-21), before losing to Macalester in five (25-15, 20-25, 22-25, 25-17, 8-15).
In the first match of the day,
Katie Berrell, who would be named to the All-Tournament Team at the conclusion of the day, led the Red Hawks with 13 kills, while
Paige Buddenhagen added 12.
Stacie Klika led the team with 14 digs, with
Abbi Williamson leading the way in assists, with 16. Ripon (6-2) finished the match with a hitting percentage of .225, while Bethany Lutheran (1-7) had a hitting percentage of .039.
Ripon's second match of the day was highlighted by a 24-kill effort from Berrell, which is just one shy of Ripon's top 10 for a single game. Buddenhagen added 14 kills, while
Kat Kulas had seven, to go along with five blocks (one solo).
Maddie Koster led the Red Hawks in digs (25), while Williamson recorded a match-high 45 assists.
The Red Hawks will be back in action on Tuesday when they'll host UW-Oshkosh at 7 p.m. on Wyman Gymnasium inside Storzer Center.
