KOHLER, Wis. - The Ripon women's tennis team won for the fourth time in their last six matches Wednesday with a 7-2 victory at Lakeland University. That win equals the team's win total from last season (4) with seven matches remaining.
In Wednesday's singles matches, Maddie VandenHouten set the tone at the top flight, winning 6-1, 6-1.
Morgan Makar and
Samantha Kiesner also gave Ripon a team point with wins at the second and third flights by scores of 6-0, 6-0 and 6-2, 6-0, respectively. Madeline Salzer and
Katelyn Peroutka were also victorious, winning at the number five and six flights by scores of 4-6, 6-4, 10-6 and 6-4, 6-0, respectively.
In doubles play, VandenHouten teamed up with Makar to win at the top flight, 8-6, while Kiesner and Wesner won their second flight match by a score of 8-2.
Ripon will try to keep their winning ways going on Tuesday against Dominican (Ill.). That match will begin at 3 p.m. at Larson Courts in Ripon, Wis.
