Ripon Women Lose Dual Meet At Carroll

WAUKESHA, Wis. - Ripon's women's swim team competed in a dual meet Saturday afternoon at Carroll University, losing to the Pioneers by a score of 149-55.

Leading the Red Hawks was Abby Hilker, who recorded the team's only first-place finish in the meet, winning the 200 freestyle with a time of 2:07.05. Hilker also finished second in the 500 freestyle (5:42.93), while teaming up with Lateesha Hiser, Janet Koehler, and Katherine King to finish second in the 400 freestyle relay (4:04.64).

Winona Holmes-Robbins also had a good day for the Red Hawks, finishing second in both the 200 IM (2:26.90) and 100 backstroke (1:07.40). Laryssa Vaclavik also posted a second-place finish in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 11:56.53.

Ripon will take next weekend off from competition, before taking part in the Wisconsin Private College Championships on January 28 in Kenosha, Wis., which will be hosted by Carthage College.
