RIPON, Wis. - In their first home meet of the season, the Ripon College women's swim team lost a dual meet to Lawrence University by a score of 134-67.
"This was another good meet for our swimmers. The women's team competed really well against one of the best teams in our conference," Head Coach
Ryan Goggans said. "We have some improvements to make, but we took a big step in the right direction."
The Red Hawks' day was highlighted by a pair of first-place finishes by
Lateesha Hiser, who won the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke with times of 26.12 and 1:09.12, respectively. Hiser was also a part of Ripon's second-place finish in the 200 Freestyle Relay, along with
Katherine King,
Abby Hilker, and
Cierra Boutelle, which recorded a time of 1:48.50, which was just one second off the pace of the winning time.
Erin Barrie added a pair of second place finishes in the 200 IM and 100 backstroke with times of 2:35.34 and 1:11.65, respectively.
Ripon will take next week off from competition, before jumping back in the pool on November 11, as they'll host Beloit and North Central in a double dual at Willmore Center beginning at 1 p.m.
