RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's men's swim team defeated North Central and Beloit College 169-52 and 169.50-55.50, respectively, behind 12 first-place individual finishes, and two first-place relay teams.
The day was highlighted by Jack Lutter's school-record time in the 100 backstroke, which saw him finish with a first-place time of 54.60, which broke his own record by 0.45 seconds, which he had set last season. Lutter also turned in first-place finishes in both the 500 freestyle (5:19.59) and 200 IM (2:07.84).
Nate Pakosz added first-place finishes in the 50 freestyle (22.46) and 100 freestyle (49.35), while Ben Georgia won both the 100 breaststroke (1:04.78) and 200 breaststroke (2:24.86). Carson Rose also earned a pair of victories, doing so in the 200 butterfly (2:15.05) and 100 butterfly (55.21). Ethan Brown added a victory in the 200 backstroke (2:09.72), while Alec Sutton won the 200 freestyle (1:54.27) and Antony Gradillas won the 1000 freestyle (11:43.53).
In relay competition, Ripon's 200 Medley team of Brown, Rose, Pakosz, and Brenden Finley was victorious with a time of 1:43.43. Ripon's 200 Freestyle team of Lutter, Sutton, Pakosz, and Ethan Ripp also earned first place with a time of 1:31.24.
The Red Hawks will be in action again next weekend when they'll travel to Appleton, Wis. to take part in the Lawrence Invitational Saturday at 1 p.m.
