RIPON, Wis. - The Ripon College volleyball team ended the second and final day of the 2017 Red Hawks Invitational with a pair of losses on Saturday, falling to both MSOE and Saint Mary's (Minn.).
Against MSOEÂ (7-6), Ripon dropped the first two sets 25-22, 25-20, before winning the third 25-17, but MSOEÂ finished the match off with a 26-24 fourth set victory.
Kat Kulas led Ripon with nine kills, to go along with eight blocks (four solo).
Brooke Bauer added seven kills, while fellow freshman
Emily Allard posted six kills, to go along with 13 assists, three service aces, 13 digs, and two blocks.
Olivia Heck led the team in assists (21), while
Stacie Klika recorded a team-high 23 digs.
In Ripon's final match of the weekend, they lost to Saint Mary's (10-4) in three sets (25-22, 25-21, 25-12). A quartet of players led the Red Hawks in kills, as Allard, Kulas, Bauer, and
Jonalee Elliott each finished with five. Heck again led Ripon in assists with 11, while Klika finished with a team-high 15 digs, helping her earn All-Tournament Team honors. Freshman
Micaela Encarnacion tallied a team-high three service aces, while also finishing with eight digs.
The Red Hawks (3-10) will be in action again next weekend when they'll host the 2017 Ripon College Quadrangular. Ripon will open that event Friday against UW-River Falls. That match will begin at Weiske Gymnasium inside Willmore Center, and can be seen live atÂ
