RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's men's swim team kicked off their 2018-19 season in style Saturday afternoon, defeating Loras College 121-59 in a dual meet, which was their first of two home meets this season.
Senior
Jack Lutter dove headfirst into the season, with a pair of first-place finishes, winning the 100 Backstroke (57.33) and the 200 Freestyle (1:51.93).
Ben Georgia also won a pair of events, finishing first in the 100 Breststroke (1:06.57) and 100 Freestyle (11:15.18). Also winning an event for the Red Hawks was Senior
Alec Sutton, who placed first in the 500 Freestyle (5:28.60). Fellow Senior
Nate Pakosz won an event of his own in the 50 Freestyle with a time of 22.91.
Ripon won both of their relay events during the meet. Lutter, Brendan Finley,
Carson Rose, and
Joe Maddux teamed up to swim a time of 1:43.08. Ripon's 200 Freestyle team of Sutton, Pakosz,
Antony Gradillas, and
Ethan Ripp added a first-place time of 1:32.55.
The Red Hawks will be in action again next weekend when they'll take part in the Lawrence Dual at 1 p.m. on Saturday in Appleton, Wis.
