Ripon Defeats UW-Oshkosh In Dual Meet

Results

RIPON, Wis. -
Ripon's men's swim team defeated UW-Oshkosh in a dual meet Saturday afternoon, winning by a score of 107-92. That gives the Red Hawks plenty of confidence heading into their final meet of the season in two weeks at the Midwest Conference Championships.

Saturday's meet saw Ripon record six first-place finishes, led by Jack Lutter and Alec Sutton with two apiece. Lutter won both the 200 freestyle (1:48.67) and 100 butterfly (54.33), while Sutton was victorious in both the 50 freestyle (22.37) and 100 backstroke (56.56). Nate Pakosz and Ben Georgia each won one event, finishing first in the 100 freestyle (49.60) and 100 breaststroke (1:05.14), respectively.

In relay competition, Lutter and Sutton teamed up with Antony Gradillas and Ethan Ripp to win the 200 freestyle with a time of 1:32.14, which was four seconds better than the second-place time.

"This was a great last meet before we head to our conference championships in two weeks," Ripon Head Swim Coach Ryan Goggans said. "We also celebrated our seniors for their last home swim meet and it was a fun and competitive meet."

The Red Hawks will finish their season at the MWC Championships on February 16-18, hosted by Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa.
