RIPON, Wis. - The 2018 Ripon College Quadrangular saw Ripon open the season with a three-set loss to Wheaton College Friday night. The Red Hawks lost the first set 25-18, before losing the next two 25-16 and 25-22, respectively.
Wheaton (1-0) finished the match with a hitting percentage of .303, while also recording double-digit kills in each set. Ripon (0-1) posted a final hitting percentage of .057, while never leading by more than two points during the match.
Emily Allard led the Red Hawks with 10 kills and a hitting percentage of .409, while also leading the team in both digs (8) and service aces (3). Allard also finished second on the team in assists (9).
Olivia Heck finished the match with a team-high 12 assists, to go along with seven digs and two service aces.
Kaylie Marks added four kills and a hitting percentage of .250.
The Red Hawks will try to rebound on Saturday's second and final day of the 2018 Ripon College Quadrangular when they'll battle Finlandia and Marian (Wis.) at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., respectively, at Willmore Center in Ripon. Both matches can be seen live atÂ
