RIPON, Wis. - After losing Friday's season-opening match in three sets, the Ripon College volleyball team returned the favor on Saturday, defeating both Finlandia and Marian (Wis.) in three sets. The Red Hawks started the day off with a 25-17, 25-13, 25-15 victory over Finlandia, before topping Marian by a convincing score of 25-14, 25-20, 25-10.
Against Finlandia, Ripon recorded 17 kills in each of the first two sets, while posting a hitting percentage of .284 in the match.
Emily Allard led the way with 10 kills and a .421 hitting percentage.
Inesha Wiseman added eight kills and a hitting percentage of .304, while
Brooke Bauer recorded six kills and a .250 hitting percentage.
Olivia Heck directed the offense with 30 assists, to go along with a team-high three service aces, while
Stacie Klika led the team with 12 digs and
Kaylie Marks tallied three blocks. Ripon held Finlandia to a hitting percentage of .048.
In the days second match, Ripon recorded a team hitting percentage of .248, while posting double digit kills in each set. Allard again led the way with nine kills and a .238 hitting percentage. Bauer also chipped in with eight kills and a .429 hitting percentage, with Marks adding seven kills and a team-high four blocks. Heck led the team in assists once more with 25, while Klika recorded a team-high 11 digs. Bauer and
Ava Conrad each finished with a game-high four service aces.
Wheaton (Ill.) College finished first in the Quad standings with a 3-0 record, while Ripon was second with a mark of 2-1, followed by Marian (1-2) and Finlandia (0-3). Allard was Ripon's representative on the All-Tournament Team.
