AURORA, Ill. - Ripon's volleyball team lost to UW-Oshkosh in four sets Friday afternoon in the first day of Aurora University's Jim Coleman Memorial Classic. UW-Oshkosh took the first set 25-17, before Ripon tied things up by winning the second set 25-22. UW-O then closed out the match by winning the third and fourth sets 25-21 and 25-15, respectively.
The Red Hawks (5-8) were led by
Kaylie Marks' 11 kills and .429 hitting percentage, in addition to two blocks.
Emily Allard added 10 kills and 13 digs, while Inesha WIseman and
Brooke Bauer recorded seven and six kills, respectively.
Olivia Heck led Ripon with 32 assists, while
Stacie Klika added a team-high 18 digs.
Melinda Boehm led the Red Hawks with four blocks (two solo).
UW-Oshkosh (8-6) recorded double digit kills in all four sets, while finishing with a team hitting percentage of .150. They were led by Tina Elstner's 13 kills, with three others posting ine kills. Elstner also led the Titans with five blocks (two solo), while Emma Kiekhofer and Rachel Gardner added 22 assists and 27 digs, respectively.
Ripon will be in action again on Saturday in the second and final day of Aurora's Jim Coleman Memorial Classic. They will face Aurora at 11 a.m., before battling Carthage at 1 p.m.
