Ripon Wins Fifth Consecutive Match

MILWAUKEE, Wis. - The Ripon women's tennis team continued their torrid start to the 2018 season Friday afternoon with a 6-3 win at MSOE, which marks their fifth win in a row. The victory is Ripon's seventh of the season, which is the team's highest single season win total since winning seven matches during the 2004 season.

Ripon (7-2) won one doubles match as MacKenzie Warner and Carly Wesner teamed up to win 8-4 at the number three flight. Warner and Wesner also won their singles matches at the number four and five flights, while Brianna Bemebenek, Samantha Kiesner, and Sarah Weber also won in singles play for the Red Hawks at flights one, two, and six, respectively.

"We won many tightly contested matches today, which will help us as the season goes on, and will give us confidence when we get into some tight situations," Ripon Head Coach Rob Oertel said. "It was another good team victory by everybody involved."

The Red Hawks will try to continue their winning ways on Saturday when they'll travel to St. Norbert College in a huge Midwest Conference match at 9 a.m. in Green Bay, Wis.
