LAKE FOREST, Ill. - The Ripon College men's soccer team opened Midwest Conference play Sunday afternoon with a 4-0 loss at Lake Forest College. The Red Hawks allowed 23 shots to the Foresters, with 12 of those coming after halftime.
Neither team scored until the 41st minute when Lake Forester's Joao Godoy netted his first goal of the season on an assist from Alex Armas to give the Foresters a 1-0 lead at halftime. They added to that lead in the second half with three goals in the final nine minutes. Deniz Gundogdu scored in the 81st minute to put LFC up 2-0, before Godoy scored again just 16 seconds later. Godoy added a third goal in the 85th minute to complete the hat trick.
Both Goal Keepers played the entire game, with 
Cole Jurish making four saves for the Red Hawks and Tero Elias saving zero shots for the Foresters.
Ripon will try to rebound on Saturday when they'll travel to Knox College. That game will begin at 11 a.m. in Galesburg, Ill.
