DUBUQUE, Iowa - Ripon's women's swim team opened their 2019-20 season Saturday at Loras College, finishing the meet tied with the Duhawks with 104 points apiece. The Red Hawks recorded six first-place finishes on the day, including one in relay competition.
Cierra Boutelle highlighted Ripon's meet with a pair of first-place finishes. She won the 50 freestyle with a time of 26.93, while placing first in the 100 freestyle with a time of 58.62.
Laryssa Vaclavik added a first-place finish in the 1000 freestyle with a time of 12:19.76, while freshman
Lily Lustig earned a first-place finish in the 500 freestyle with a time of 5:53.37. Ripon's other individual first-place finish came in the one-meter diving competition, where
Des'tanee Evans tallied 110.25 points.
Ripon's 200 freestyle relay team of Lustig, Boutelle,
Amanda Hoppe, and
Abby Anderson also earned a first-place finish with a time of 1:50.39.
The Red Hawks will be in action again next weekend when they'll have their first home meet of the season in a double dual against Lawrence and Macalester, beginning at 1 p.m.
