BELOIT, Wis. - Ripon's volleyball team earned their second win in the last three matches Friday night, defeating Beloit in four sets in a match that couldn't have been much closer, with three of the sets decided by three points or less. The Red Hawks won the first set 25-22, before taking the second set 26-24. Beloit then won the third set by a score of 25-23, before Ripon finished them off with a 25-20 victory in the fourth frame.
Ripon (4-19, 2-6 MWC) recorded 59 kills on the night, to go along with a hitting percentage of .175, while Beloit posted 48 kills. The Red Hawks were led by
Emily Allard and
Monika Minniecheske, who each finished with 14 kills.
Ellie MacKenzie led the team with 45 assists, while
Micaela Encarnacion posted a match-high 32 digs.
Lydia Ellis led the team in blocks with three (two solo).
Beloit (8-14, 0-7 MWC) was led by Eva Laun-Smith's 13 kills, while Molly Muller recorded 12. Paige Wimbrow added 36 assists for the Buccaneers, while Amanda Baran led the team in digs with 19.
