JACKSONVILLE, Ill. - Ripon's volleyball team played two matches Saturday afternoon, losing to Illinois College and Coe College by identical 3-0 scores. The Red Hawks lost to IC by a score of 25-17, 25-16, 25-15, before losing to Coe 25-15, 25-15, 25-20.
Against Illinois College (12-4, 4-1), freshman
Kaelyn Flairty led the Red Hawks (2-17, 0-4 MWC) with 11 kills, while fellow first-year player
Monika Minniecheske recorded seven kills.
Micaela Encarnacion led the team in digs with 11, while
Ellie MacKenzie recorded a team-high 25 assists.
In the day's second match against Coe (10-11), Ripon was again led by Flairty, who posted six kills and a hitting percentage of .250. Minniecheske added five kills, while
Brooke Bauer added four. MacKenzie again led the team in assists with 15, while Encarnacion recorded a team-high 15 digs.
Ripon will be in action again on Friday when they'll host Lawrence University. That match will begin at 7 p.m. at Willmore Center, and can be seen live atÂ
