RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's men's tennis team opened their 2019 conference season on Saturday, losing to Illinois College and Grinnell by scores of 7-2 and 9-0, respectively.

In their first match of the day, Riipon's lone doubles win came at the top flight where Drew Jorgensen and Marcus Austin teamed up for an 8-7 victory. Junmo Kwon captured the team's singles victory with an 8-3 win at the fifth flight.

In the nightcap, Ripon faced a tough Grinnell squad, losing all six singles matches in two sets, while also dropping all three doubles contests.

Ripon will be in action again next weekend when they'll battle Knox and Monmouth on Saturday, both of which will be on the road.
