RIPON, Wis. - Ripon lost a pair of games to Lake Forest College Monday afternoon, falling 1-0 in game one, before losing the second game 10-0.
In the day's first game, neither team could muster much offense, before Lake Forest (13-11, 6-2 MWC) broke the scoreless tie in the top of the sixth on a bases loaded walk, which proved to be the only run of the game. The Foresters scored that run despite not recording a hit in that frame.
Ripon (7-19, 2-8 MWC) out-hit Lake Forest by a 5-3 margin. The Red Hawks were led by
Lexi Reetz's two base knocks. Reetz also suffered a tough-luck loss, allowing zero earned runs on just three hits in her 12th complete game of the season. She also struck out three batters.
The second game of the day saw Lake Forest score early and often, platting one run in both the first and second inning and two more in the third for a 4-0 lead. They capped the scoring with a six-run seventh to put the game out of reach. The Foresters out-hit Ripon by a 15-3 margin.
Ripon was led by a 2-for-2 performance at the plate from
Emyli Kreiser, while Addison Lindsay recorded the team's only other hit. Reetz (7-7) suffered the loss, allowing two earned runs on four hits and striking out one in her two innings of work.
