Ripon To Welcome Four New Members To Athletics Hall of Fame

RIPON, Wis. - On Friday, June 28, Ripon College will expand its Athletic Hall of Fame to 147 members, with the addition of its four newest inductees, Sandra DeVries-Ernst '03, Brittany Dick '09, William Fiedler '82, and Josh Kraemer '09. The ceremony will once again be a part of Ripon's annual 1851 Awards reception, which will begin at 5:15 p.m. at Great Hall in the Harwood Memorial Union on the campus of Ripon College. Tickets to the reception are $45 per person and are still available.

Sandra DeVries-Ernst '03


Sandra DeVries-Ernst '03 was a three-time First Team All-Conference selection for Ripon's volleyball team. She graduated as the school-record holder in both career blocks (591) and kills (1,384), which ranked fourth and sixth in Midwest Conference history, respectively. DeVries' hitting percentage of .332 also was a school record at the time of her graduation, and ranked fourth in MWC history.

At Ripon College, she majored in history and speech communications, was a resident assistant at Johnson Hall and was a member of the Student Admissions Ambassadors Club.

She currently works at the University of California-Davis. A native of Brandon, Wis., Sandra now lives in Redding, Calif., with her husband, Kevin, and their children, Wynston and Lele.

Brittany Dick '09
Brittany Dick '09 competed in both cross country and track and field at Ripon. A 2006 Academic All-America performer in cross country, Dick qualified for Division-III Nationals. She graduated with the sixth-fastest 5K time in program history (19:06) and the top two 6K times (22:10 and 22:46). As a cross country runner, Dick earned All-Conference honors three times, while also earning All-Conference recognition twice in the Outdoor 3K Steeplechase as a member of Ripon's track and field team.
 
At Ripon College, she majored in psychology and anthropology. She graduated summa cum laude, was an inductee of Phi Beta Kappa National Honor Society, the Laurel National Academic Honor Society and Psi Chi, the psychology honor society. She received the 2008 Department of Psychology Achievement Award and the 2008 Ripon College Best All-Around Female Award for academics, athletics and community outreach.
 
Dick is now a world-ranked ultra runner, USA Triathlon All-American and Champion Burro Racer. A native of Amherst, Wis., she now lives in Steamboat Springs, Colo., with her partner, Keith Kyhl.

William Fiedler '82
William Fiedler '82 was a member of three consecutive Midwest Conference men's tennis team championships from 1979-81. A three-time MWC singles champion, Fiedler graduated with the most singles victories in program history, going 60-11 during his career. He was also a three-time MWC doubles champion, compiling a career doubles record of 73-5 with Dave Woolf '82, which still stood as a school record for doubles victories at the time of his induction 37 years after graduating.
 
At Ripon College, he majored in politics and government.
 
Fiedler was the 1993 National Platform Tennis Champion and now works for Skyline Asset Management. A native of Scarsdale, N.Y., he currently lives in Winnetka, Ill., with his wife, Kim; and their children, Ingrid and Will.

Josh Kraemer '09
Josh Kraemer '09 was a six-time All-Conference selection in his four years with the Ripon College football team, earning three First Team honors as a defensive back and being named to the MWC's Offensive All-Conference team three times as a kick returner. A 2008 All-America Honorable Mention, Kraemer finished his career tied for fourth in school history with 17 interceptions. He scored six career touchdowns despite not playing offense. As a sophomore, Kraemer led Division-III in punt return average (17.4), before ranking 10th in D-III in both punt return and kick return average as a senior.
 
He majored in exercise science with a minor in health and is currently a regional personal training director for Anytime Fitness. On multiple occasions, the clubs he oversees have received the Club Purple (top 20 percent of all Anytime Fitness clubs) and Club Platinum (top five percent of all Anytime Fitness Club) awards.
 
A native of Waukesha, Wis., Josh and his wife, Katie Krueger-Kraemer '09, currently live in Cedarburg, Wis. with their daughter, Cora.
