RIPON, Wis. - Ripon's volleyball team went 1-1 on Saturday during the second and final day of the Ripon College Quadrangular. The Red Hawks started the day strong with a three-set victory over Finlandia, winning convincingly by a score of 25-6, 25-13, 25-8. They weren't as fortunate in the nightcap, losing in three sets to Dominican (Ill.), 25-18, 25-21, 25-18.
In the day's first match, Ripon never trailed in the first or third set, while there were just two lead changes in the second set.
Emily Allard led all players with 12 kills and an .867 hitting percentage, to go along with 11 assists and a match-high six service aces, which is tied for ninth in program history for a single match.Â
Inesha Wiseman added 10 kills and a hitting percentage of .562, while freshmen
Monika Minniecheske and
Lydia Ellis chipped in with six and five kills, respectively. Fellow freshman
Ellie MacKenzie led all players with 22 assists. As a team, the Red Hawks recorded 40 kills and a cumulative hitting percentage of .425.
The day's second game saw just six ties and two lead changes, as Dominican played with the lead for most of the contest. Wiseman led Ripon with nine kills and a hitting percentage of .304, while freshman
Kaelyn Flairty added six kills. Allard posted a team-high 14 assists, to go along with 12 digs, while
Micaela Encarnacion led the team with 16 digs, as she was named to the All-Tournament Team.
