LAKE FOREST, Ill. - Ripon's men's basketball team won their fourth consecutive game Wednesday night, defeating Lake Forest 82-70, behind 64 percent (33-52) shooting, including 40 percent (8-20) from 3-point range.
Ripon (13-7, 9-4 MWC) scored the game's first basket on a
Seth Kostroski jumper, and the Red Hawks wouldn't trail the entire night. Lake Forest (9-10, 6-6 MWC) kept the lead at one point with 14 minutes to play in the half, but Ripon ended the half on a 28-17 run to take a 12-point lead into halftime.
The Red Hawks continued to lead by double-digits for the majority of the second half, with Lake Forest only pulling as close as eight points on a couple occasions. The Foresters shot 42 percent (28-66) in the game and 35 percent (9-26) from 3-point range.
Trent Jones led Ripon with 25 points on 11-of-17 shooting, to go along with five rebounds. Kostroski added 20 points, including four 3-pointers, while
Ryan Steffes and
Owen Theune each scored 10 points.
Lake Forest was led by Aram Arslanian's 37 points on 16-of-25 shooting, including 3-of-7 from 3-point range. Michael Drew Jr. added seven points and four rebounds off the bench, while Reece Taylor scored six points.
Ripon will hope to extend their win streak to five games on Saturday when they'll travel to Lawrence University. That game will begin at 1 p.m. in Appleton, Wis., and can be seen live atÂ
