The Midwest Conference (MWC) announced its Academic All-Conference honorees for the 2019-20 academic year, which includes 1,705 student-athletes, representing the MWC's 10 core institutions, plus two affiliate schools, in 18 sponsored sports. Ripon College earned 172 honors on this year's Academic All-Conference team, which is 40 more than they received last year.
The criteria to become an Academic All-Conference selection includes a minimum grade point average (GPA) of 3.33 which is calculated only in the awarded academic year. Freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors who letter in any of the MWC's fall, winter or spring sports are eligible for the award.
Ripon's Fall sports garnered 72 Academic All-Conference honors, while their Winter sports earned 52, and the Spring sports received 48. The Red Hawks Football team earned the most honors with 20 players receiving the award, while Ripon's women's indoor and outdoor track & field teams and women's soccer team (75 percent) saw 18 student-athletes earn the honor. Softball saw 74 percent of their team earn the honor with 14 selections, while women's basketball's 13 selections consists of 72 percent of their team. Men's Soccer also reached double-digits with 10, followed by men's basketball, men's indoor track & field, women's cross country, and volleyball with eight apiece.
Men's outdoor track & field earned seven selections, while men's tennis and women's tennis earned five apiece. Rounding out Ripon's awards were baseball (5), men's cross country (3), men's swimming (2), and women's swimming (2).
