Cormac Madigan has been named Midwest Conference Football Offensive Performer of the Week, as released Monday by the conference office, for his performance in Saturday's 52-8 win at Grinnell College.
Madigan touched the ball just six times in Saturday's blowout victory, racking up 226 all-purpose yards and scoring three touchdowns, as he made the most of his opportunities. The Chemistry-Biology major from Rosendale, Wis. carried the ball four times for 161 yards (40.2 ypc) and two touchdowns (79 and 78 yards), while also catching two passes for 65 yards, including a 63-yard TD reception.
Madigan's outstanding performance helped Ripon improve to 5-0 on the season for the first time since 2010, moving into a first-place tie in the MWC with a 4-0 conference record. The Red Hawks will try to move to 6-0 for the first time in 26 years this Saturday when they'll host Lake Forest College at 1 p.m. at the friendly confines of Ingalls Field.
